That standard ensures easy inter-compatibility with all other Blocks, and this allows you to quickly assemble any combination and signal flow that you like, much like working with a hardware modular system. Some Primary modules perform very basic tasks, such as applying mathematical operations to incoming values; others, such as oscillators, are more complex in their makeup and function. Primary also includes a built-in library of pre-defined Macros, most of which include GUI elements and so provide another quick way to assemble effects and synths.

Core is where you get down to the nitty-gritty of things. Core modules can only be created inside of a Core Cell and allow a deeper level of control over proceedings, and complex DSP routines to be created. After a Core Cell has been edited, Reaktor compiles the structure into efficient-to-run machine code.

While Core editing looks similar to Primary editing, and Core contains many useful modules and its own library of pre-built Macros, it is in fact much more akin to writing program code due to the concepts it uses.

Terminals on the left of a module are inputs, while those on the right of a module are outputs. Connecting the modules is simply a case of dragging between inputs and outputs to create signal paths.

This means the event terminals run at a lower data rate than do audio terminals, and so the two can generally not be interconnected without using a converter module in-between there are some exceptions to this, but using them can weigh heavily on CPU usage. You can also invert the polarity of these signals using the Invert buttons next to each knob. You can create a peak filter-style effect by turning up the high-pass channel with knob 3, and activating its Invert button.

To activate Gate for each step, click the square Gate button below each note value. Over the past 10 years, he has: worked as a research scientist for Twitter; developed multi-touch interfaces for Nokia research labs; worked for leading ribbon microphone manufacturer Royer Labs; has had musical production featured in major motion films; designed and built recording facilities; and produced, engineered, and mixed records in Tokyo, Nashville, and Los Angeles.

View More View Less. John Tejada. Trained on drums and the piano from an early age, the LA-based synth mastermind has since amassed his own impressive skill set, embracing the music as a personal frontier, expanding on his resume as a techno recording artist as producer, remixer, DJ, and label owner.

Known for crafting a brand of subtle, musical sonics, his recorded output ranges across tempo and genre lines, from chilled out affairs with spacious arrangements to pulsating, densely layered, deeply energetic tracks that work magnificently in the hands of DJs as well as on the home stereo. Delivering the true sound of a synth as famous as the artists who used it, MONARK is the holy grail of analog modeling. Every aspect of the complex interaction of complex analog circuits to the behavior of the filter when overloaded was meticulously studied and recreated using cutting-edge DSP technology.

MONARK features super-snappy envelopes, making stabbing melodic lines and punchy electronic drum sounds easy to create. Its simple layout consists of three oscillators, a smooth filter and amp section, and essential fine tuning, modulation, and glide controls. Using mathematical prediction, ZDF technology eliminates the sample delay normally produced when trying to digitally model analog circuits involving feedback, such as a resonant filter.
